Because I believe that telling your story perfectly means embracing the imperfections. It means capturing the moment when the snort in your laugh makes you laugh even harder, or when you pick the smallest flower in the grass because it’s the one you like the most. It means clicking my shutter for every silly dance, inside joke, and happy tear that comes up in your session–because those small, imperfect moments are what makes life beautiful.

magic happens
I’m here to document your family. We’ll take some “traditional” portraits, but the goal is to embrace the characteristics that make you who you are. Here, your memories matter, and capturing them authentically is my biggest goal. Together, we’ll have the best time, soak up the sun (I adore natural light, which is why our session will take place either early morning or sunset), and be creative as we create images you’ll cherish forever.
Every collection of photos we take together has been given days of attention and care. Each image is hand-edited to the highest standard. I believe that going above and beyond for you is the standard, which is why I provide an online gallery with all the best high-resolution images, wardrobe consultation with a preparation guide, and additional items (including prints, albums, or frames) to purchase upon request.

“Amazing newborn photographer! Johanna came recommended by our birth doula and we are so glad we hired her! She was prompt with emails, scheduled us quickly (even though our baby boy was already a week old), arrived to the shoot early, and was super professional and efficient.
