Newborn Sessions
These sessions below are examples of what I do for newborn photography at home and precisely what to expect when you book your newborn photos with me.
I am trained to swaddle your baby (And I will bring a couple of swaddles and props), but I do not practice non-natural posing. I capture natural photos of a baby in the comfort of the family’s home. I am here to document the baby’s first days of life and the emotion a parent can feel at that exact moment. These first few days, when you realize your life has changed forever, you need images to remember how cute and tiny those little feet were! I’ve been there, and I feel super emotional each time.
The session is intimate, relaxing, and lasts up to 90 minutes, and we can take a break if the baby needs to be fed or changed. There will be no rush. My goal is to give you about 30 images you will cherish forever.
Here are a few tips on how to prepare for your newborn session:
Pick your favorite newborn outfit. We want the baby to be comfy and not fussy. A warm and cute outfit is the key. We will do one of your favorite outfits, and we will swaddle baby.
Feed and change the baby before the session.
Pick a comfortable outfit for yourself; avoid too many patterns. For softer / light & airy images, choose pastel colors.
Clear & organize the nursery, living room, or master bedroom before the session (put away bottles, toys, and any items that can cause distraction in the background.)
Schedule your session as soon as you get home from the hospital. I am pretty flexible, and the session must be done within 14 days after the baby comes into the world.
